Where:                        Camp Shamineau in Motley, MN

 

Who:                            Any middle school or high school student

 

What:                          A growth level retreat which includes a chapel time of great worship and speakers, flag football tournament and free time which can include any of the following: high & low ropes course, climbing wall, skate park, horseback riding and much more. Boats ‘n Bible Retreat

 

When:                          Usually in August

 

Where:                        A beautiful Minnesota lake

 

Who:                            Any middle school or high school student

 

What:                          An opportunity to get away for a weekend before school starts to go tubing, skiing and wakeboarding while enjoying some delicious campfire grilling.  The evenings are spent learning about who God is under the beauty of His creation. 

 

Cost:                            FREE!  

 

 

Snoblast Retreat

 

When:                          Usually a weekend in February/files/Youth Pictures/SnoBlast.Broomball.2010.jpg

 

Where:                        Campbell’s cabin near Crosslake, MN

 

Who:                            Any middle school or high school student

 

What:                          This weekend is meant to embrace our Minnesota winters while we go sledding, walk around trails, iceskate and look silly trying to run on ice while playing broomball.  We also have a guest speaker come in to encourage us in our relationship with Jesus Christ.

 

Cost:                            FREE!

 

 

District Conference (aka ‘Districts’)

Where:                        Rochester or Duluth (depending on the year)

 

What:                          Growth level weekend retreat with 2,000-4,000 students listening nationally-known speakers and worship leaders who will encourage us to live out our faith in word and deed.  There is plenty of free-time as well playing ultimate frisbee, swimming in the hotel pool, walking around the city and much more. Check under Events on the NCD Youth website by clicking here. 

 

Who:                            Students in grades 7-12

 

Cost:                            About $100

 

 

 

Challenge Conference

 

When:                          1st week in July (every even year)

 

What:                          National Evangelical Free Church youth conference with 6,000+ students, the best national youth speakers and worship bands, outreach and service projects and much more.

 

Where:                        Held in various parts of the U.S. Recent Challenge Conferences have been held at Purdue University in Lafayett, Indiana and Salt Lake City. The 2010 Challenge Conference was held in Columbus, Ohio. Click here for the Challenge website.

 

Who:                            Students in grades 8-12

 

Cost:                            Around $400-$500

When:                          Throughout the summer for those through 8th grade; Wednesday through Sunday following the 4th of July weekend for high school

Who:                            Students from 1st through 12th grade

Sonshine Music Festival

 

When:                          Held the 2nd week in July from Wednesday-Saturday.

Who:                            Students in 7th-12th grade
